Mission El Paso Day 3

We were a little tired heading out today…but we had a very productive day. We had more kids come to our soccer camp this morning as a result of being at the park on Tuesday night. We had a good lesson about Joseph and how his life shows that God cares about each of us.

We had Chico’s Tacos for lunch today, which is an el paso staple food. They are not like regular tacos. They are basically taquitos that you soak in their special red sauce for a couple of minutes, optional spicy green sauce, then cover it in cheese.  Chicos has been in el paso for over 50 years.

Tonight we noticed that there was a smaller crowd at both the park and vbs. We still had a great time at both. Tonight the kids made tshirts at vbs, adults had a Bible study and worship time, and we taught a lesson about God has a plan for everyone’s life. We sent a group to the park where we had a good time playing soccer, making notebook covers with the boys, and handing out free sno cones.

Tonight after leaving we headed to rim road in El Paso. Up on the mountain the view of the city lights of Juarez and El Paso make a beautiful scene.

Looking forward to Thursday morning. Octavio will be sharing his testimony to the soccer camp. Octavio is from El Paso and is an elite soccer player. We first met him 6 years  ago when he was 10. We are all looking forward to it.
